Tagum Water, a bulk water service provider under Manila Water’s Non-East Zone operations, commemorated its 5th anniversary, celebrating half a decade of reliable and sustainable service in Tagum City.
The company, formed in 2015 through a joint venture between Davao Norte Water (a consortium of Manila Water and iWater, Inc.) and the Tagum City Water District, was created to supply an additional 38 million liters per day (MLD) of potable water through a 15-year public-private partnership. Operations began in 2020, following the commissioning of its integrated bulk water supply system, which sources raw water from the Hijo River and includes riverbank filtration, a modern treatment plant, pipelines, and a reservoir.
In 2022, Manila Water Philippine Ventures fully acquired iWater’s shares, increasing its ownership in Tagum Water to 90 percent.
Tagum Water’s innovations were nationally recognized in 2024 with the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency Excellence Award for its use of Artificial Recharge technology, underlining its commitment to sustainable water solutions.
Celebrating under the theme “Padayon: A Journey Continues, Empowered Together,” Tagum Water reaffirmed its mission to deliver safe water and continue driving progress through innovation, partnerships, and community engagement.
