MOVE IT launches Pag-IBIG subsidy for top riders

MOVE IT has become the first motorcycle taxi platform in the Philippines to subsidize Pag-IBIG monthly savings for its top-performing riders, marking a major milestone in integrating platform workers into state-sponsored social protection systems. The initiative reinforces MOVE IT’s commitment to improving rider livelihood while addressing long-term financial security in the growing mobility sector.

The subsidy program applies to high-performing riders in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Cagayan de Oro, based on service quality, safety, and productivity. Qualified riders gain access to Pag-IBIG Fund’s full suite of services, including housing loans, short-term financial assistance, and the MP2 high-yield savings program.

Riders must link their Pag-IBIG Membership ID to their MOVE IT profile to apply via a dedicated in-app portal. MOVE IT general manager Wayne Jacinto emphasized that beyond fair income, riders value freedom to choose social protections aligned with their needs and aspirations.

The initiative is supported by a broader partnership with Pag-IBIG, SSS, and PhilHealth through the Grab and MOVE IT Asenso Center in Marikina. The center provides platform workers with training, membership assistance, and financial literacy programs.

This move complements Grab’s similar subsidy rollout for top-performing four-wheel drivers earlier this year, signaling a shared industry shift toward inclusive and sustainable benefits for the country’s platform economy workforce.
