The Department of Energy (DOE) is rolling out a one-stop-shop permitting process for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stakeholders in Palawan from 11 to 15 August, allowing same-day issuance of License to Operate (LTO) and Certificate of Compliance (COC) for applicants with complete requirements.
This move, led by the DOE’s Oil Industry Management Bureau, eliminates the need for LPG retailers, dealers, and gas station operators to travel to Metro Manila, reducing costs and business downtime. According to DOE, the initiative enhances regulatory compliance and supports the LPG Industry Regulation Act, while strengthening safety, environmental, and quality standards.
DOE undersecretary Alessandro Sales said the effort prioritizes “safety and service” by bringing regulatory services closer to local businesses, making operations more efficient and compliant.
This marks DOE’s second one-stop-shop in Palawan, following a similar event in Puerto Princesa in 2023, and is part of a broader strategy to extend such services to more remote and underserved areas.
As of June 2025, the DOE has issued 14,672 LTOs nationwide, including 288 in Mimaropa, where Palawan belongs.
