PSA launches nationwide agriculture, fisheries data update

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is set to conduct the 2025 Updating of List of Agricultural Farm Operators and the Inland Fishing Households and Listing of Marine Fish Landing Centers (ULAFO-LMFLC), a major nationwide data gathering initiative aimed at improving agricultural and fisheries statistics in the country that will cost P867.9 million.

Scheduled from September 1 to November 4, 2025, the operation seeks to update the statistical sampling frames currently based on outdated data from the 2012 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF) and 2021 marine fisheries listings. The PSA will cover 25,991 barangays and reach an estimated 17.1 million households and 13,328 marine fish landing centers nationwide.

The 2025 ULAFO-LMFLC aims to determine the number and types of agricultural operators, inland fishing households, and characteristics of farms and marine fish landing centers. Collected data will support the Quarterly Inland and Municipal Fisheries Surveys, as well as commercial fisheries statistics.

This update was approved under the PSA’s Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System, ensuring it complies with government data protocols. The PSA emphasized its strict adherence to data confidentiality as required by laws, assuring the public that data will not be used for taxation or law enforcement.

The PSA calls on all selected households and marine fish landing center representatives to provide accurate and complete information to support the country’s agricultural and fisheries development planning.
