Hydropower firm Repower Energy earnings surge in 1H

Repower Energy Development Corp., the hydropower subsidiary of Pure Energy Holdings Corp., first-half net income surged 58 percent to P152.20 million, with revenue soaring on double-digit gains in electricity generation on increased water volume.

Electricity generated of its hydropower plants rose 29 percent to 59.77 million kiloWatt-hours, up from 46.32 million kWh during the same period in 2024. This strong performance fueled a 28 percent increase in revenues to P359.61 million.

The company attributed the upswing to higher and more reliable output. Operating costs remained stable due to tighter plant operations, improved system availability, proactive maintenance, and smarter procurement strategies. Favorable hydrological conditions and minimal disruption from natural disasters also supported the stellar results.

Repower Energy continues to build on its momentum in just its second year as a publicly listed firm. It remains on schedule to commission the Cabanglasan Hydropower Plant in Bukidnon by third quarter of this year—a project expected to more than double its generation capacity and drive further revenue growth.

“2025 is shaping up to be a banner and transformative year for Repower Energy, proving that efficient operations and dependable hydro resources can power both the community and the company’s strong financial results,” said president & chief executive officer Eric Y. Roxas.
