BSP flags fraudulent papers with forged signatures

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has issued an official advisory cautioning the public against fraudulent documents falsely bearing the BSP name, logo, and forged signatures of its officials.

According to the BSP, these counterfeit documents are being used to mislead recipients and unlawfully obtain financial benefits or sensitive personal information. The central bank emphasized that it does not issue such documents in connection with private financial transactions.

“The BSP strongly urges the public to exercise vigilance and verify the authenticity of any communication or documentation that claims to originate from the Bank or its officials,” the advisory stated.

Stakeholders, including financial institutions, investors, and the general public, are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or documents to the BSP through official communication channels.

This move comes as part of the BSP’s ongoing efforts to uphold trust and integrity within the Philippine financial system, amid rising concerns over scams exploiting institutional credibility.

For verification or to report fraudulent incidents, the BSP has directed the public to contact its Consumer Protection and Market Conduct Office.
