Puregold expands nationwide footprint with eight new stores

Retailer Puregold Price Club Inc. is ramping up its nationwide expansion with plans to open eight more stores across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao before the end of the year. This development comes on the heels of a strong first-half performance and supports the company’s push to make retail access more inclusive for Filipino families and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The latest addition includes a newly launched branch in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte—Puregold’s first in the province—marking a deeper push into underserved regions. The company emphasized that these new builds aim to stimulate countryside growth, empower MSMEs, and improve product accessibility through competitive pricing.

“Our vision is to have a Puregold branch within reach for every Filipino MSME and family,” said Vincent Co, president of Puregold, citing best-value pricing and proximity as core to their mission.

As of June 2025, Puregold operates 666 Puregold stores, 31 S&R Membership Shopping warehouses, and 67 S&R New York Style quick-service restaurants. The retailer also opened additional branches in July, reinforcing its retail presence nationwide.

The company’s expansion strategy is yielding results. Net sales for the first half of 2025 rose 11 percent year-on-year to ₱109.87 billion, driven by the performance of 26 new Puregold stores and four S&R warehouses opened in 2024, along with 166 new Puregold stores and one S&R warehouse added this year.

Despite a 16.4 percent rise in operating expenses—mainly from manpower, utilities, and logistics—Puregold’s growth outlook remains robust, anchored on its continued store rollouts and rising consumer demand in emerging markets.
