The Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands (CCPI), the country’s oldest business institution, successfully hosted a special forum featuring Her Excellency Yuliia Fediv, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Philippines, at its historic headquarters in Intramuros.
The event brought together members of the chamber, business leaders, members of the academe, and media representatives for a meaningful dialogue centered on resilience, international partnership, and global cooperation.
In her keynote address, Ambassador Fediv expressed Ukraine’s appreciation for the Philippines’ continued support, particularly from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. “It’s better to be over prepared rather than underprepared. It’s better to be strong and confident and to have partners and allies—while also relying on yourself,” she remarked, emphasizing the importance of preparedness, self-reliance, and strategic alliances.
The Ambassador also shed light on Ukraine’s journey amid ongoing challenges, and reiterated the country’s commitment to peace and development. She encouraged deeper ties between Ukraine and the Philippines, particularly through economic and business engagement.
CCPI president Jose Luis U. Yulo Jr. reaffirmed the chamber’s dedication to fostering global dialogue and economic cooperation. “Through today’s event, the Chamber continues its heritage of advocacy for business and economic development—this time, between the Philippines and Ukraine,” Yulo said.
Adding to the cultural significance of the forum, the CCPI also launched a special exhibit on Ukrainian history at the 2nd Floor Lobby of the Chamber Building. The exhibition will be open to the public from August 30 to September 2, 2025.
The forum concluded with an interactive Q&A session, sparking thoughtful discussions on diplomacy, global security, and collaborative opportunities for economic growth.
