Smart Communications, Inc. has partnered with Billease, a leading Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) platform in the Philippines, to offer more flexible and affordable payment options for its customers. The collaboration aims to support greater financial and digital inclusion by enabling Smart, TNT, and Smart Bro Home WiFi users to access services through easy installment plans.
“This partnership is rooted in our shared commitment to making digital services available for all,” said Lloyd Manaloto, first vice president at Smart. “By integrating Billease’s BNPL solutions into our ecosystem, we’re empowering more Filipinos to stay connected with greater ease.”
Through the partnership, subscribers can now use Billease’s installment plans for purchasing devices, settling postpaid bills, or topping up prepaid accounts—providing a practical solution during financially tight periods.
Billease, which allows users to pay in installments without a credit card, supports a wide range of transactions including e-commerce, travel, and retail. CEO Georg Steiger said the partnership comes at a critical time. “This collaboration with Smart allows us to reach more users and offer them meaningful financial solutions, especially during petsa de peligro.”
Smart will also serve as Billease’s exclusive telco marketing partner during its 8th birthday celebration this September. As part of the campaign, Smart users who register for a Billease account and avail of mobile services will be eligible for raffle prizes, including smartphones, cash, and home appliances.
The move also introduces a new mobile loading channel for Smart subscribers, further improving user convenience and experience.
Smart currently covers 97 percent of the population with 4G/5G service, reinforcing its commitment to expanding access to digital services nationwide.
