The Jollibee Group has announced deeper collaboration with the Government of Canada following a high-level visit by Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Honourable Heath MacDonald to the company’s Manila headquarters. The meeting focused on enhancing Jollibee’s supply chain network and global sourcing capabilities through strategic cooperation with Canada.
Minister MacDonald was accompanied by senior Canadian officials, including Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines David Hartman, Indo-Pacific Agriculture and Agri-Food Office Executive Director Diedrah Kelly, and Acting Senior Trade Commissioner Eleonor Rupprecht. They were received by Jollibee Group Global President and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong, who presented the company’s growing footprint in Canada.
As of July 2025, Jollibee operates 28 stores across five Canadian provinces, with 12 in Ontario, 8 in Alberta, and additional locations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. Its better-burger brand Smashburger also has six outlets in the country.
“Canada remains a valuable and strategic market—not only for expanding our store network, but also as a key partner in strengthening and localizing our supply chain,” said Tanmantiong.
The meeting explored avenues for collaboration, including sourcing Canadian agricultural products, improving logistics partnerships, and supporting Jollibee’s North American expansion. MacDonald praised Jollibee’s growing presence, stating, “We are grateful that you have chosen Canada to be one of your global expansion hubs and for contributing to the vibrant culinary industry in our country.”
The visit concluded with the delegation experiencing Jollibee’s offerings at its 1000th store in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, underscoring the brand’s cultural and commercial appeal.
The strengthened ties with Canada mark a significant step in Jollibee Group’s global growth strategy, positioning Canada not only as a consumer market but also as a critical partner in sustainable and scalable supply chain solutions.
