Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr. has earned an “A-” rating in Global Finance magazine’s Central Banker Report Cards 2025, marking his second consecutive recognition as one of the world’s best central bank governors.
Governor Remolona expressed gratitude for the honor, stating, “This recognition is a credit to the entire BSP team and their commitment to our mandates,” highlighting the central bank’s focus on maintaining price stability, a sound financial system, and smooth payment processes.
The annual report evaluates central bankers from nearly 100 countries, grading them on inflation control, economic growth, currency stability, interest rate management, and independence. Leaders are rated between A+ and F, with the highest ratings given to those demonstrating results with strategic foresight and discipline.
Governor Remolona shares the “A-” rating with central bank heads from countries including Cambodia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Singapore, and Taiwan.
