BSP honors outstanding Mindanao stakeholders in Butuan City

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) recognized nine outstanding institutional partners from Mindanao during the 2025 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony (OBSAC), held in Butuan City.

The ceremony honored organizations that significantly contributed to the BSP’s advocacies, including financial inclusion, education, digital payments, currency management, and gold buying.

In his keynote address, Monetary Board Member Jose L. Querubin emphasized the importance of accessible financial services, stating that “no challenge is beyond our reach” with strong partnerships. BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat also highlighted how collaborations are making the financial system more inclusive and responsive at the grassroots level.

Since its launch in 2004, OBSAC has served as a platform for the BSP to recognize partners supporting its core mandates of price stability, financial stability, and an efficient payments system.

Awardees from the Mindanao Regional Office include:

Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company – Cash Management Services Unit, Ozamiz Branch

Land Bank of the Philippines – Northern Mindanao Branches Group, General Santos Pioneer Branch, and Davao-Recto Branch

Development Bank of the Philippines – Cagayan de Oro Cash Center

Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao

Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, Davao de Oro

Philippine Science High School – Zamboanga Peninsula Region Campus

    Butuan City Bankers Club

The Mindanao leg of OBSAC 2025 follows similar ceremonies held earlier this year for BSP’s Head Office and South Luzon stakeholders. Recognition events for North Luzon and Visayas partners are scheduled in the coming months.
