    Megaworld expands retail footprint

Megaworld Corp., the listed property development arm of billionaire Andrew Tan, is accelerating the expansion of its retail and commercial portfolio, adding over 30,000 square meters of new space this year through its retail arm, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.

The expansion comes amid rising demand for premium commercial spaces in the company’s integrated urban townships.

Set to open in 2025 are several new retail developments in strategic locations, including McKinley West in Taguig, Makati, Alabang West in Las Piñas, and Boracay Newcoast in Aklan. These openings bring Megaworld closer to its long-term goal of reaching one million square meters of gross leasable area by 2030.

Among the key developments is The Shoppes at Park McKinley West, a two-story lifestyle hub at the podium of the Park McKinley West condominium. It will house a curated mix of global retailers and dining concepts, including Ogawa, Tartufo, Royal Indian Curry House, One World Deli, George & Onnie’s, Café 17, and Nightshade Cocktails & Bar.

In Makati, Megaworld will launch a new lifestyle mall at Vion Tower, located at the busy intersection of EDSA and Chino Roces Avenue. Additional retail spaces will also open in Alabang West and at Newcoast Beachwalk in Boracay, which is geared toward tourists.

“We are growing our leasing business by introducing lifestyle concepts that resonate with today’s consumers,” said Graham Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.

The company reported P3.33 billion in leasing revenues in the first half of 2025, a 10 percent increase year-on-year, driven by strong foot traffic and sustained demand from premium tenants.
