    New water system unveiled in Basilan

    The Manila Water Foundation, Metrobank Foundation, Zuellig Family Foundation, and local government partners launched a new water system in Barangay Bohelebung, Tipo-Tipo, Basilan. The initiative, part of LCF’s “Initiative for Food Security, Nutrition, and Empowerment” program, aims to improve child nutrition and fight malnutrition in the region.

    The Project Bohè Water System will provide 350,000 liters of clean water daily to 318 households, benefitting over 2,500 people. The system includes a filtration and chlorination network connected by a one-kilometer pipeline.

    Basilan officials and community leaders expressed gratitude for the partnership’s impact, emphasizing how the project brings health, comfort, and renewed hope to the area. The initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between corporate foundations and local governments in improving access to essential services.
