Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez has filed criminal charges against two former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials for allegedly using falsified driver’s license.
The complaint, filed Tuesday at the Parañaque Prosecutor’s Office, names former Bulacan District Engineer Henry Alcantara and former Assistant District Engineer Brice Hernandez. Both face charges of use of falsified documents after reportedly using fake licenses to gain access to a casino. The two are said to be part of the so-called “BGC Boys” group.
According to Lopez, the pair admitted to using the fake documents, which he emphasized as a serious offense. He stressed that the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will strictly enforce accountability.
If found guilty, the two could face up to six years in prison and a P1 million fine. In addition, the LTO has permanently revoked their driver’s license.
Lopez also revealed that similar cases are being prepared against other “BGC Boys” members, Arjay Domasig and Jaypee Mendoza. He issued a stern warning to the public against using fake licenses, stating that violators will be prosecuted.
