Globe wraps up Nando relief, mobilizes for Opong

Globe has completed full network restoration in areas impacted by Super Typhoon Nando, while ongoing assessments and restoration efforts are underway in communities now affected by Typhoon Opong.

Connectivity has been fully restored in all 109 municipalities across 15 provinces in North Luzon affected by Super Typhoon Nando. Restoration efforts addressed outages caused by power and transmission disruptions. Globe also concluded relief operations in Cagayan and Ilocos Norte, distributing 600 ready-to-eat meals in partnership with Rise Against Hunger. A total of 13 Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging (LTLC) stations were deployed in the region to support affected residents.

Globe is currently assessing network disruptions caused by Typhoon Opong across 16 provinces in South Luzon and Visayas, with Camarines Sur and Samar among the hardest hit. In South Luzon alone, services were disrupted in 108 municipalities, with 30 reporting outages due to power and transmission issues.

Field teams are coordinating with power utilities and local government units (LGUs) to accelerate restoration. Standby LTLC stations are prepared for deployment based on community needs.

“We continue to give our #AlagangGlobe to restore services and bring communities back online,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s chief sustainability and corporate communications officer.
