International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) has been recognized as the Philippines’ top company for intangible asset intensity in the 2025 Global Innovation Index released by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Scoring 85.94%, ICTSI derives nearly nine out of every ten pesos of its market value from intangible assets such as proprietary systems, trade secrets, brand reputation, customer relationships, and long-term port concessions.
Intangible asset intensity reflects the share of a company’s value stemming from non-physical resources rather than traditional assets like buildings or equipment. ICTSI’s leading position underscores its ability to combine physical infrastructure with digital systems, operational expertise, and a global network spanning 33 terminals in 19 countries.
This achievement coincides with the Philippines reaching its highest-ever ranking in the Global Innovation Index, climbing to 50th out of 139 economies and ranking third among lower middle-income countries. The country’s strong performance is driven by improvements in high-tech exports, venture capital activity, and digital adoption.
ICTSI’s recognition highlights the important role of intangible assets in enhancing the competitiveness of Philippine firms on the global stage, supporting the nation’s broader innovation and economic growth goals.
