Cyberheist 2.0 arms PH firms vs digital threats

Globe Business successfully convened the country’s top digital leaders for the second edition of “Cyberheist,” an immersive cybersecurity event designed to help organizations respond more effectively to evolving digital threats. The event addressed a significant market gap, highlighted by BlueVoyant data showing that while 80 percent of Filipino firms have experienced cyber breaches, only 6 percent have achieved a mature level of cybersecurity readiness.

The unique platform—featuring expert-led talks, strategic consultations, and real-world simulations—equipped leaders with practical tools to strengthen cyber defenses in an increasingly digital economy.

The morning session featured Robert S. Paguia, Division Chief for International Cooperation on Cybercrime at the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), who emphasized data protection as essential to customer trust. Oliver Patron, Assistant Director for Cybersecurity at Globe Business, presented an integrated framework for resilient operations, underlining the need for robust networks and cybersecurity alignment.

A case study was shared by Emmanuel Barcena, President and CEO of Philippine Clearing House Corporation (PCHC), highlighting collaborative success with Globe Business in securing critical financial infrastructure. “No single organization can stand alone,” Barcena noted, pointing to the value of strategic partnerships in cybersecurity.

KD Dizon, Head of Globe Business, reinforced the company’s commitment: “Through programs like Cyberheist, we are empowering organizations to evaluate their defenses and prepare for evolving regulations.”

The afternoon featured simulated cyberattack “escape rooms,” hands-on experience with threat response tools, and consultations with cybersecurity experts. Solutions from partners such as Sophos, Proofpoint, and Akamai were also showcased, offering businesses a practical path toward stronger digital resilience.

Globe Business encourages organizations to explore its full suite of ICT solutions, including regional roadshows and strategic consultations, as the first step toward proactive cybersecurity.
