China Bank Savings (CBS), the retail arm of China Bank Savings Corp., is providing a P11 million sponsorship for the National Teachers Month and National Teachers’ Day 2025 celebration held on October 6. The event, organized by the Department of Education (DepEd) at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, will gather thousands of public school teachers and stakeholders nationwide.
CBS’s sponsorship package includes 20 ‘My First Million’ savings accounts preloaded with P50,000 each, 20 laptops, 10 smart TVs, 14 Honda Click motorcycles, and a 2025 Toyota Innova as the grand prize. CBS president James Christian T. Dee and first vice president Niel C. Jumawan will lead the awarding ceremonies.
Dee emphasized the bank’s commitment beyond banking services, highlighting its focus on education, financial literacy, and empowerment. Meanwhile, Jumawan shared that CBS is co-implementing a financial wellness workshop series with DepEd targeting teachers and staff in Visayas and Mindanao. This initiative aims to improve educators’ financial literacy through sessions on budgeting, borrowing, savings, and cash flow management.
Since 2016, CBS has invested over P40 million in prizes and sponsorships supporting National Teachers’ Day and continues to advocate for financial wellness among teachers. Earlier in 2025, CBS also donated P14.8 million worth of laptops and educational materials to support DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela and Learning Recovery programs.
