The Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO) is exploring partnerships with Spanish engineering firm IDOM Consulting and event management leader Fira Barcelona following its recent investment mission to Spain.
APECO president Gil G. Taway IV revealed that discussions with IDOM focused on developing a food and cold chain logistics hub, as well as port infrastructure in Casiguran, Aurora. The proposed 5 to 10 hectare logistics hub aims to boost agricultural production and enhance the region’s food supply chain, in line with APECO’s food security goals.
In addition, APECO is in talks with Fira Barcelona to develop a world-class convention center within the ecozone, supporting economic growth through meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE). The partnerships align with APECO’s master development plan to attract international investors and enhance infrastructure in the region.
APECO’s mission to Spain also included meetings with 11 other companies, exploring further collaboration on various development projects.
