Far Eastern University (FEU) and the UCLA Joe C. Wen College of Nursing have established a collaborative partnership to advance simulation-based teaching in nursing education.
Following discussions between FEU Nursing Dean Dr. Moira Uy, UCLA Dean Dr. Lin Zhan, and FEU’s Associate Department Chair for Simulation Neugene Cu, the two institutions formalized their cooperation through a memorandum of understanding signed in July 2025.
Dr. Emma Cuenca, UCLA’s Pre-licensure Program Director and an FEU alumna, played a key role in facilitating the partnership. The collaboration aims to promote knowledge exchange, faculty development, and excellence in nursing education.
As part of the partnership, Cu completed a three-day intensive training at UCLA’s Simulation Center, earning certification as a UCLA-trained Global Simulation Partner. He now leads FEU’s Virtual Integrated Nursing Education Simulation programs, aligning them with UCLA’s standards. Cu’s training was supported by the Felicidad D. Elegado Endowment Program of the FEU Nursing Alumni Foundation USA, Inc.
This collaboration highlights both institutions’ commitment to innovative nursing education and global academic cooperation.
