BDO Unibank Inc.’s BDO Kabayan Facebook Page was honored for Excellence in Social Media Strategy at the 21st Philippine Quill Awards, recognizing its role in supporting overseas Filipinos (OFs) through reliable and accessible financial information.
The award highlights BDO’s continued commitment to “Alagang Kabayan,” using the platform to provide timely updates, financial tips, and scam prevention reminders for OFs and their families. With over 500,000 followers, the page serves as a trusted digital hub for Filipinos abroad.
“We built BDO Kabayan to be a simple, friendly space where our kabayans can feel closer to home,” said Genie T. Gloria, BDO SVP and head of remittance. She emphasized the importance of financial literacy and security for OFs, especially in light of rising fraud risks.
BDO also promotes digital tools like BDO Pay, allowing OFs to monitor transactions, send money, and pay bills with reduced fees by linking it to their Kabayan Savings account.
Gloria dedicated the Quill recognition to BDO’s OF clients, saying, “Your trust inspires us to keep improving our services every day.”
