Globe Telecom has partnered with the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) and local stakeholders to strengthen efforts against Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Material (CSAEM). The campaign recently convened over 300 participants, including officials from the DOJ, CHR, NBI, PNP, and Zamboanga City LGU, highlighting the need for a whole-of-community approach to child protection.
“Protecting children online requires more than technology, it demands collective action,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s chief sustainability and corporate communications officer.
Globe’s initiatives extend beyond advocacy, focusing on education and awareness. Its Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP) has reached over 12,000 students in 43 schools in 2025 alone, while the MakeItSafe website offers tools to help parents protect their children online. The company also launched Safe Space: A Kid’s Guide to Data Privacy, a children’s book co-developed with CANVAS, currently featured at the National Museum’s Tumba-Tumba exhibit promoting children’s rights and digital responsibility.
From January to June 2025, Globe blocked over 484 million scam and spam messages, dismantled 5,707 domains linked to child exploitation, and took down 2,785 illegal gambling sites. Its filtering system also restricted access to 248,552 child exploitation-related URLs — including 8,385 AI-generated materials — and processed over 87,000 SIM reports, leading to nearly 10,000 SIM deactivations.
Globe continues to advocate for responsible digital use, combining technology, education, and community engagement to protect children and promote safer online environments across the country.
