Prime Infra subsidiaries win LLDA awards for community development work

Subsidiaries of Prime Infra, Ahunan Power, Inc. and Olympia Violago Water and Power Inc. (OVWPI), were honored with the Bantayog Para sa Kabuhayan Awards by the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) for their community development initiatives in the Laguna de Bay region.

The Bantayog ng Lawa Awards recognize individuals and organizations that contribute to sustainable development and improved livelihoods in communities surrounding the Laguna de Bay.

Ahunan Power was recognized for its Tayo Na Pakil program, launched in 2022, which was developed through community needs assessments. The initiative includes projects such as PAKILight, a micro-enterprise led by local women producing candles and paper bags, and PAKILigtas, a disaster preparedness and climate education campaign.

Meanwhile, OVWPI received the award for its Kilos Calawis program, which delivers skills-based training to indigenous and non-indigenous communities within its project site. Launched in 2024, the program covers a wide range of training areas, including emergency response, hygiene, nutrition, and environmental stewardship.

“These recognitions affirm the efforts of Ahunan Power and OVWPI in contributing to renewable energy and water supply development while uplifting communities,” said LLDA environmental regulations department manager Emiterio C. Hernández.

Prime Infra, led by businessman Enrique K. Razon Jr., emphasized that both projects underwent rigorous environmental compliance and community engagement, reflecting its commitment to aligning infrastructure development with social and environmental responsibility.
