The Jollibee Group reinforced its commitment to sustainability and volunteerism by joining the International Coastal Cleanup Day on September 20 and leading a separate tree-planting activity on September 30.
A total of 220 employee volunteers from across the Group’s brands and business units took part in both initiatives organized by the Jollibee Group Foundation.
At SM by the Bay, 108 volunteers logged 540 hours and collected 546 kilograms of waste to help reduce pollution and protect marine ecosystems.
In partnership with the Laguna Lake Development Authority, 112 volunteers joined the tree-planting activity in Sto. Tomas, Batangas, contributing 560 hours of service. Franchisee store teams accounted for 27 percent of the participants.
“These efforts are part of our broader sustainability journey, grounded in care for people and the planet,” said Gisela Tiongson, president of the Jollibee Group Foundation.
The activities form part of the company’s “Joy for Tomorrow” sustainability agenda, which supports environmental responsibility and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
