Manila Water has begun relocating a key 600mm steel pipeline along Meralco Avenue and Shaw Boulevard in Pasig City to make way for the Department of Transportation’s Metro Manila Subway Project.
The ₱49-million project, which started in the second quarter of 2025, involves excavation, pipelaying, interconnection, and restoration works. Completion is expected by the third quarter of 2026.
To avoid water service disruptions during subway construction, works are being done round-the-clock along Oranbo Drive, while operations along Capt. Henry Javier Street are scheduled nightly from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM, with a one-lane closure and stop-and-go traffic scheme in place.
In coordination with the Pasig City government, Manila Water has set up safety measures including signages and barriers.
“We support the government’s infrastructure push while making sure our customers continue to receive reliable water service,” said Jeric Sevilla, Manila Water Communication Affairs Group director.
The utility company appeals for public understanding as it carries out the project to ensure uninterrupted water supply.
