CLI, Japan’s NTT UD break ground on P9.2B Cebu project

Leading VisMin developer Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI) has broken ground on The Wave Towers, its P9.2-billion Japanese-inspired residential development in partnership with NTT Urban Development (NTT UD) Asia, its first project under their joint venture CLI NUD Ventures, Inc.

The project’s first phase, Nagomi Tower, will rise 40 storeys within Cebu I.T. Park and feature 709 premium units designed with modern comforts and infused with Japanese aesthetics. The development, according to CLI chairman and chief executive officer Jose Soberano III, “brings to life a shared vision that combines innovation, craftsmanship, and respect for culture and community.”

“More than just a collaboration, The Wave Towers stand as a testament to Cebu’s growing prominence as a center for world-class real estate development,” Soberano said during the groundbreaking event attended by executives from CLI, NTT UD, and Cebu City officials.

    Japanese precision meets Cebuano soul
Consulted by globally renowned design firm Nikken Sekkei, The Wave Towers blend Japanese precision and harmony with Filipino warmth. The project’s architectural flow takes inspiration from waves—symbolizing calm, rhythm, and movement.

Structural engineering is led by SY2, one of the Philippines’ top firms, ensuring international standards of safety and resilience. Each unit features TOTO bathroom fixtures, smart home systems, and multipurpose Japanese-style rooms, while shared amenities include a spa, Japanese garden, fitness center, and a sky deck with panoramic city views.

The Wave Towers is first joint venture in the Philippines of NTT UD, a subsidiary of Japan’s NTT Group, its global footprint spans Tokyo, London, New York, and Ho Chi Minh City.

NTT UD’s entry underscores growing international confidence in Cebu’s property market and CLI’s capability to deliver globally competitive developments that celebrate both Japanese design sensibility and Cebuano creativity.
