Equinix Inc., a global leader in digital infrastructure, has officially launched its operations in the Philippines after acquiring three data centers in Manila.
The move highlights Equinix’s commitment to supporting one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital markets. The Philippines’ digital economy is projected to expand by 15 percent to 20 percent in 2025, driven by stronger infrastructure, e-commerce growth, and the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI).
“The Philippines plays a pivotal role in Southeast Asia’s future, with its fast-growing economy, young workforce, and thriving innovation ecosystem,” said Cyrus Adaggra, president of Asia-Pacific, Equinix.
He added, “The introduction of our interconnection services will be a game changer in the Philippines, helping businesses digitize more quickly and paving the way for AI adoption. Our goal is to drive this momentum by shortening the path to boundless connectivity, enabling more businesses to scale, expand, and compete globally.”
Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda welcomed the expansion, saying it supports the government’s digitalization goals. “By bringing world-class services to our shores, we are better positioned to empower businesses, government, and communities to fully participate in the digital economy and help build a more connected, future-ready business environment,” he said.
As part of its launch, Equinix introduced Equinix Fabric in the Philippines. The platform—which includes Fabric Cloud Router and Equinix Internet Access®—offers businesses secure, high-speed interconnection services to connect with global networks, cloud, and AI providers.
Through Equinix Fabric, companies can seamlessly link their physical and virtual infrastructures worldwide, fostering scalable and secure growth for both local and international enterprises. It also enhances network resilience by hosting global and local carriers, enabling businesses to diversify providers, optimize performance, and maintain cross-border continuity.
Equinix’s three Manila data centers—MN1, MN2, and MN3—house more than 1,000 cabinets with room for further expansion. These facilities bring latency-sensitive data and applications closer to end users, integrating the Philippines more deeply into Equinix’s global digital ecosystem.
