The major groups representing government workers and retirees — the Philippine Government Employees Association (PGEA), the Philippine Alliance of Retired Educators (PARE), and the GSIS Retirees Association, Inc. (GRAI) — have declared their full support for GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso.
The groups praised the GSIS leadership for being transparent, financially responsible, and attentive to members’ concerns. PGEA, with over 600,000 members, commended Veloso’s honest management. PARE leaders discussed retirees’ benefits and pledged to help share accurate information about GSIS programs. GRAI said it fully supports Veloso’s investment strategy to keep the fund sustainable.
Veloso assured members that GSIS remains financially strong, with no losses or gambling-related investments. He emphasized that all investments follow strict safety and return standards, focusing on secure options like government securities and member loans.
He also welcomed the groups’ trust, noting that new board appointments have strengthened GSIS operations. Veloso reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to its mission of providing “Ginhawa for All.”
