Home Credit PH, Puregold launch credit card for small business owners

Home Credit Philippines has teamed up with Puregold Price Club Inc. to launch the Aling Puring Credit Card, its first branded credit card designed for small business owners.

The new Visa card targets members of Puregold’s Aling Puring program, which includes about 1 million sari-sari store owners, karinderyas, caterers, and bulk buyers nationwide.

The card offers a credit limit of up to ₱100,000 and up to 45 days of interest-free purchases. It also provides rewards and perks when used at Puregold, including points and rebates.

For a ₱200 monthly membership fee, users get added benefits such as insurance worth 120% of their outstanding balance, ₱500 daily hospital cash, and ₱50,000 health coverage. New cardholders can also enjoy a 5% rebate (up to ₱500) on purchases within the first 30 days.

Home Credit said the partnership aims to give Filipino micro-entrepreneurs better access to financial tools to help manage their capital and grow their businesses.

Applications can be approved on-site, a first in the local market, according to Home Credit executives. Credit limits start at ₱20,000 and can increase as users build their credit history.

Puregold vice president for operations Antonio delos Santos said the initiative seeks to help business owners extend their working capital while rewarding responsible credit use.
