    Smart and Maya join forces to make digital life cheaper for Filipinos

    Smart Communications, Inc. has partnered with Maya to make mobile data and digital transactions more accessible and affordable for Filipinos.

    Under the partnership, Smart and TNT subscribers can now buy load through the Maya app without paying convenience fees. In addition, Smart users can access the Maya app without using up their mobile data, as it is now “zero-rated.”

    Smart’s first vice president for corporate marketing and atrategy, Lloyd Manaloto, said the initiative aims to “break barriers to digital access” and make it easier for Filipinos to stay connected and manage their finances without extra costs.

    Maya Group chief commercial officer Khurram Malik added that the collaboration helps users handle money transfers, savings, bills payments, and online activities more conveniently and affordably.

    The rollout has begun nationwide and is part of both companies’ broader efforts to promote digital inclusion and financial empowerment. By combining mobile connectivity with digital payments, the partnership seeks to strengthen digital literacy, inclusion, and economic resilience across the Philippines.
