Motorists will face another round of fuel price hikes starting Tuesday morning, with oil firms announcing increases of ₱0.50 per liter for gasoline and ₱1.00 per liter for diesel.
However, kerosene prices will remain unchanged following the government’s price freeze under Proclamation No. 1077, which declared a nationwide state of calamity. Without the freeze, kerosene would have risen by ₱0.90 per liter.
The adjustments take effect at 6:00 a.m. for Seaoil and Jetti, and 6:01 a.m. for Caltex.
Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas said the gasoline hike exceeded early estimates due to strong regional demand and limited supply as several refineries undergo maintenance. He noted that diesel prices remain high because of tight supply in Asia, reduced output from refineries, and the impact of Western sanctions on Russian fuel exports.
Last week, fuel firms already implemented sharp increases—₱1.70 for gasoline, ₱2.70 for diesel, and ₱2.10 for kerosene.
With this week’s adjustments, year-to-date net increases now total ₱18.70 per liter for gasoline, ₱22.85 for diesel, and ₱8.65 for kerosene.
Department of Energy data show pump prices in Metro Manila averaging ₱52.15 for RON 91 gasoline, ₱62.00 for diesel, and ₱79.40 for kerosene.
