SM Prime, Iloilo City unveil redeveloped Central and Terminal Markets

SM Prime Holdings Inc., in partnership with the Iloilo City Government, has opened the newly redeveloped Iloilo Central and Terminal Markets, transforming two of the city’s oldest public spaces into modern community hubs.

The nearly ₱3-billion project, launched in 2022 under a public-private partnership, spans over 62,000 square meters and was completed at no cost to the city. Both markets remain under the management of the Local Economic Enterprise Office.

The Iloilo Terminal Market now includes a 20,000-square-meter lifestyle center with 58 leasable spaces and expanded capacity for 1,160 vendors. The Central Market offers over 17,000 square meters of upgraded space, housing 850 vendors and new communal dining areas.

Mayor Raisa Treñas-Chu called the redevelopment “a new beginning for vendors and shoppers,” while SM Prime president Jeffrey C. Lim said the project strengthens local enterprise and community life.
