ABS-CBN Corp. reported a 13 percent drop in net loss to P2.24 billion in the first nine months of 2025, down from P2.59 billion a year earlier, driven largely by gains in its content production and distribution segment. Excluding one-time items, recurring losses fell 43 percent year-on-year.
Total revenue for the period reached P11.75 billion, slightly lower than last year’s P12.12 billion. The content segment posted a 14 percent revenue rise to P9.13 billion, supported by growth in advertising and consumer revenue, reducing its net loss by 24 percent to P1.66 billion.
Meanwhile, the cable and broadband arm, SkyCable Corp., struggled with a declining subscriber base, posting a 36 percent drop in revenue to P2.63 billion and a 40 percent increase in net loss to P585 million.
ABS-CBN’s overall operating costs fell 11 percent to P13.52 billion, reflecting cost-cutting efforts including lower administrative and employee expenses.
The results highlight ABS-CBN’s successful pivot toward content creation as a core revenue driver, offsetting losses in its traditional cable and broadband business.
Continued focus on content monetization and cost discipline positions the company for more sustainable operations despite subscriber challenges in legacy segments.
