Globe Telecom posted record mobile data revenues in the third quarter of 2025, highlighting a major shift in the industry as global demand for 5G-powered, data-first services continues to rise.
Mobile data revenues hit an all-time high of ₱25.2 billion, driving the company’s quarter-on-quarter growth. Globe ended September with 63.1 million mobile subscribers, up 5 percent from last year, as more users adopt 5G. Data now contributes 86 percent of all mobile service revenues, reflecting its growing role in Filipinos’ daily digital activities.
The company’s network expansion played a key role in meeting stronger data demand. By the end of September, Globe had built 1,375 new cell sites, upgraded 8,699 mobile sites, and added 877 new 5G sites. These improvements expanded coverage and boosted capacity in both urban centers and regional areas, helping the company grow data revenues even as overall traffic held steady.
Globe president and CEO Carl Cruz said the results validate the company’s focus on world-class connectivity and disciplined investment. “The global pivot to mobile-first, data-centric ecosystems is transforming customer behavior, and our network readiness allows us to fully participate in this shift,” he said.
Globe’s network now provides outdoor 5G coverage to 98.71 percent of Metro Manila and 98.31 percent of major cities in Visayas and Mindanao, supporting everything from streaming and e-commerce to cloud-based business tools.
Looking ahead, Globe said it will continue accelerating execution to sustain momentum through the rest of 2025, while staying on track to achieve positive free cash flow by year-end, prior to dividends.
