TPB Members’ Night 2025 puts spotlight on responsible, climate-conscious tourism

The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines gathered more than 300 members and partners on November 18 at Solaire Resort North for the TPB Members’ Night 2025: Community in Action, an event themed “Creative Upcycling” to highlight responsible tourism and climate action.

TPB chief operating officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles thanked members for their 2025 contributions, noting that community-centered initiatives helped revive local economies, empower residents, and support areas recovering from calamities. She emphasized that tourism is most meaningful when it uplifts communities and protects natural and cultural heritage.

Members were recognized for advancing sustainable travel through programs in Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur, Tacloban, Samar, Davao, Ilocos, Palawan, and Negros Island, as well as CSR activities in La Union, Batanes, and Catanduanes that aided vulnerable destinations. TPB also highlighted its environmental advocacy, including support for the Philippine Tarsier Foundation through World Expo 2025 Osaka and sustainability practices such as minimizing single-use plastics and promoting reusable materials.

The event marked the launch of the TPB Membership Recognition Program, honoring Neomace Travel and Tours and Ilocos Heritage Tours for top domestic performance, Evasion Tropicale Inc. and Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort for environmental sustainability, and Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort for inclusive workplace practices.

Nograles closed by reaffirming TPB’s commitment to strengthening climate initiatives and ensuring tourism growth that protects destinations for future generations.
