Cebu Pacific promotes insider as new treasurer

Cebu Air Inc., the Gokongwei Group’s listed airline operator behind the Cebu Pacific brand, has named long-time executive Pamela Rae Chua as its new treasurer effective December 1. She succeeds Elynore Villanueva, who has retired from the post.

Chua brings over a decade of experience within the company, having joined Cebu Air in 2012 and steadily risen through roles across Commercial, Finance, and Treasury. Before her promotion, she served as deputy treasurer while also leading finance operations at AirSwift following its acquisition, underscoring her expanding responsibilities within the group’s aviation portfolio.

Her track record includes serving as director for treasury risk management since February 2020, where she strengthened liquidity planning and financial safeguards during a period of heightened industry volatility. Prior to that, she was finance and financial strategy manager beginning in February 2017, contributing to Cebu Pacific’s capital planning and long-term financial positioning.

Chua earned her Management Engineering degree from Ateneo de Manila University and completed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst program in consecutive years, reflecting her strong grounding in financial analysis and corporate finance.

Her appointment signals continuity in Cebu Pacific’s financial leadership as the airline navigates expanding operations and a fast-evolving competitive landscape.
