Travel Fair in Palawan generates over P130 million in sales leads

The 16th Regional Travel Fair (RTF), organized by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, wrapped up successfully in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and generated more than P130 million in sales leads.

Held under MIMAROPA’s tagline “Your Destination of Choice,” the event highlighted the region’s natural attractions and cultural diversity through business sessions, consumer activities, and tourism showcases.

TPB chief operating officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles said the RTF continues to strengthen domestic tourism. “Each edition creates opportunities for meaningful partnerships… It’s about building a future for tourism that is inclusive and full of opportunities,” she said.

The business-to-business (B2B) sessions on November 14 at Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa saw over 2,000 appointments between 52 accredited buyers and 67 sellers, including travel agencies, tour operators, and other tourism stakeholders.

Tourism officials from DOT Regions XII and MIMAROPA, local tourism councils, and TPB representatives also attended the event.

The business-to-consumer (B2C) fair, held at Robinsons Palawan on November 15–16, attracted more than 4,000 visitors. Attendees explored exclusive travel deals, joined travel-themed games, and viewed presentations featuring top destinations across MIMAROPA and participating regions.

Participants were also treated to a welcome dinner and a series of familiarization tours, which showcased Puerto Princesa’s eco-tourism sites and community-based enterprises such as Iwahig Penal Farm, Mitra’s Ranch, Binuatan Creations, and Baker’s Hill. The tour extended to San Vicente, where guests experienced the beaches and island attractions of Port Barton.

The fair concluded with a turnover ceremony to the next host, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). TPB said the success of this year’s event underscores its commitment to expanding tourism opportunities and strengthening industry partnerships nationwide.
