Motorists will pay more for gasoline starting Tuesday, as major fuel retailers raise pump prices by P1.20 per liter. Diesel and kerosene prices will remain unchanged.
The adjustment follows earlier industry projections of a P1 to P1.20 increase for gasoline. Forecasts for diesel and kerosene did not materialize after key cost factors — including premiums, freight, and the week-long diesel MOPS average — ended lower than expected, according to Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas.
Petron, Seaoil, Jetti, and PTT will implement the changes at 6:00 a.m.
Last week, fuel firms raised gasoline prices by P0.20 per liter but slashed diesel and kerosene by P2.90 and P3.20, respectively.
So far this year, net price increases stand at P21.10 per liter for gasoline, P21.75 for diesel, and P6.75 for kerosene.
As of December 2–8, Department of Energy data show Metro Manila pump prices averaging P56.20 for RON 91 gasoline, P54.60 for diesel, and P79.67 for kerosene.
