Globe Telecom says its mobile data rates have dropped almost 60 percent since 2019, driven by stronger competition and sustained network investments. CEO Carl Cruz said the company aims to make reliable internet more accessible nationwide.
A GSMA 2024 Affordability Index review shows the Philippines now matches Vietnam and Cambodia in data affordability and ranks second-fastest in download speeds among comparable economies. Globe added that prices fell another 17 percent from 2024 to 2025.
The DICT reported improved broadband value as well. Globe’s P999 prepaid fiber plan now offers 100 Mbps—double the previous speed—cutting the cost per Mbps by half. Postpaid plans at P1,499–P1,699 now deliver up to four times faster speeds, reducing the cost per Mbps by up to 70 percent.
Despite price cuts, Globe says performance remains strong, citing four years as the country’s most consistent mobile network and the widest 5G coverage in early 2025.
Globe is also expanding access through GFiber Prepaid, a no-lock-in service starting at P199 for seven days or P999 monthly, and through partnerships with sari-sari stores for community onboarding. Postpaid base speeds now average about 400 Mbps.
