Los Baños, Laguna — The Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) has launched an AI-powered Knowledge Hub to improve access to its environmental research and publications. The system was formally unveiled in October this year, during the visit of Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Raphael P.M. Lotilla to the ERDB Main Office.
Secretary Lotilla welcomed the initiative, saying the platform is an important step in managing and accessing environmental research. He noted that the Knowledge Hub helps preserve ERDB’s scientific work while supporting solutions for a more sustainable future.
ERDB director Lormelyn E. Claudio said the launch reflects the Bureau’s commitment to digital transformation. She explained that the system uses advanced technology to improve how ERDB manages and shares knowledge for environmental protection and sustainable resource management.
The Knowledge Hub was developed by ERDB’s Management Information System team, led by Information Systems Analyst III Alvin F. Olvida, with support from DENR officials and ERDB supervisors. The platform allows users to search and interact with ERDB publications using natural language, making research faster and easier to access for researchers, policymakers, and the public.
The initiative highlights ERDB’s continued efforts to use technology to strengthen science, innovation, and sustainability.
