Korean stars named Philippine Tourism Ambassadors

CLARK, Pampanga — South Korean actors Kim Myung Soo and Choi Bo Min have been appointed as the Philippines’ newest Tourism Ambassadors by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), strengthening efforts to attract more Korean visitors to the country ahead of 2026.

The appointment was formalized on December 14 in Clark, Pampanga, where TPB chief operating officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles signed a memorandum of understanding with the two artists. TPB said the partnership focuses on long-term, authentic promotion of the Philippines as a travel destination.

Kim and Choi were chosen for their strong following in Korea and their genuine connection to the Philippines, built through frequent visits and ongoing projects. As part of their role, they joined a two-day TPB-curated tour in Clark highlighting outdoor activities, sports tourism, and local culture.

The artists attended the PUMA Half Marathon at Filinvest Mimosa, greeting fans and helping showcase Clark as a venue for international sporting events. They also experienced local cuisine, highlighting Pampanga’s reputation as a culinary destination.

TPB said the initiative reflects its strategy of using meaningful partnerships and curated experiences to promote Philippine destinations to priority markets such as South Korea.
