Monde Nissin backs FDA reforms at CanCham business forum

Monde Nissin Corp. reaffirmed its commitment to food safety and transparent regulation during a business forum organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham) in Makati City.

The forum, held at the Zuellig Building and co-organized with the Philippine Chamber of Food Manufacturers, brought together government and industry leaders for a dialogue with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) director general Paolo Teston. Discussions focused on the FDA’s modernization plans, regulatory reforms, and ways to strengthen public trust through closer cooperation with the private sector.

Teston said regulators and industry should work as partners to ensure a safe marketplace, stressing the FDA’s focus on science-based rules, transparency, and collaboration. Industry leaders echoed this view, calling for clear, predictable, and risk-based regulations that support long-term planning and effective compliance. Monde Nissin regulatory affairs manager Ria Badiola said clear regulatory frameworks allow companies to focus resources on areas that matter most for consumer safety.

Participants also highlighted the importance of digital transformation, post-market surveillance, and continued dialogue to make regulatory reforms practical and inclusive. The forum ended with a shared commitment from regulators and industry to work together to improve food safety and build a more trusted and future-ready regulatory system in the Philippines
