Bitget brings high-speed internet to remote schools in the Philippines

Bitget has provided high-speed Starlink internet to six schools in Surigao del Norte, Siquijor, and Negros Oriental, helping improve access to online learning in remote island communities.

Through its Blockchain4Youth program, the company connected more than 7,300 students and over 100 teachers. Many of the schools are using reliable internet for the first time, replacing printed worksheets with online lessons and digital tools.

The supported schools include Espoir School of Life and Lasala Integrated School in Surigao del Norte; Apo Elementary School and the Arts & Design Collective Dumaguete in Negros Oriental; and Siquijor State College and Siquijor Provincial Science High School in Siquijor.

Bitget said the project aims to give students and teachers better learning opportunities and prepare them for a digital future. Along with the internet installations, the company held teacher consultations, digital readiness checks, and initial tests of digital and blockchain learning materials.

The initiative is part of Bitget’s wider PayFi Islands program, which seeks to expand digital infrastructure and education in underserved areas of the Philippines. The company plans to continue rolling out internet access and digital skills programs to help close the digital divide.
