Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) recorded its highest passenger traffic on record in 2025, serving 52.02 million travelers, according to New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), the airport’s private operator.
December was the busiest month in NAIA’s history, with 4.86 million passengers. Of this total, 2.37 million were international travelers, the highest monthly figure so far, while domestic passengers reached 2.50 million, the second-highest monthly total.
NNIC said the figures cover all airport activity, including domestic travel, international arrivals and departures, business travel, and connecting passengers.
Despite the surge in passenger numbers, airport operations remained stable during peak periods. NNIC credited this to operational improvements rolled out during the year, including new biometric immigration e-Gates, upgrades to passenger processing systems and terminal facilities, and closer coordination with airlines and government agencies.
The company said its focus has been on improving passenger flow, reducing congestion, and ensuring the airport can handle high demand more efficiently.
NAIA is the Philippines’ main aviation hub, serving both domestic and international flights. Under a public-private partnership, NNIC manages the airport’s operations, maintenance, and modernization, while the government retains ownership.
