Philippine companies and innovators recently secured multiple citations at the 2025 ASEAN Energy Awards, highlighting energy solutions that deliver measurable efficiency gains and economic value.
Globe Telecom, Inc. won in the Energy Efficient Building – Special Submissions (Cutting-Edge Technology) category for advanced systems that improved energy performance across its facilities, helping reduce operating costs. Solaris One placed 1st Runner-Up in the Green Building – Large category for energy-efficient building designs that enhance long-term asset value, while Tagum Water Company, Inc. earned 1st Runner-Up in Energy Management in Buildings and Industries – Small and Medium Industries for structured energy management initiatives that lowered power consumption in water operations.
Semirara Mining and Power Corporation received 2nd Runner-Up in the CSR (Large) category of the ASEAN Coal Awards, recognizing community programs integrated into its power business.
Individual honors went to former DOE assistant director Artemio P. Habitan, who received the ASEAN Excellence in Energy Management (Individual) award for advancing cost-effective energy management practices. Youth advocates Francheskha Joy Panganiban Rembulat and Jhun Jhun Q. Agustin were also cited in the ASEAN Energy Youth Awards for creative works promoting clean and responsible energy use.
Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin said the recognitions underscore the commercial relevance of Philippine energy innovations, noting that efficiency remains among the most affordable ways to strengthen energy security and manage costs.
