Megawide to start Baguio transport terminal construction by Q3 2026

Megawide Construction Corp. said it plans to begin construction of the P1.2-billion Baguio City Integrated Terminal (BCIT) by the third quarter of 2026, with completion expected in about two years.

The company is set to sign the formal agreement with the Baguio City government this Wednesday, following the Notice of Award it received in October 2025 after its unsolicited proposal passed the Swiss Challenge process.

The BCIT will be developed under a 40-year lease with the city government. It is designed to initially serve seven southbound routes, including La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila and Cavite via the South Luzon Integrated Terminal Exchange (SLITX). The terminal is expected to handle up to 25,000 passengers daily, catering to both long-distance and daily commuters.

Separately, Megawide, through its subsidiary Megawide One Mobility Corp., is also developing SLITX in Carmona, Cavite. The P800-million project is under a 30-year joint venture agreement with the Carmona City local government and will have an initial capacity of 30,000 passengers per day.

SLITX will serve routes from Baguio down to Visayas and Mindanao, connect with the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) and other city terminals, and have direct access to the South Luzon Expressway through new toll entry and exit points. The facility will also offer park-and-ride options and improved access to Metro Manila business districts and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Once completed, Megawide said the BCIT and SLITX projects are expected to complement PITX operations and generate annual recurring net income of about P300 million to P400 million within two to three years of full operations.
