MacroAsia Mining Corp. (MMC), a wholly owned subsidiary of MacroAsia Corp. (MAC), has secured a major regulatory green light for its Infanta Nickel Project after the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) approved its declaration of mining project feasibility.
MacroAsia said its mining unit secured the approval on Tuesday, January 20, which covers the Infanta Nickel Project under Mineral Production Sharing Agreement (MPSA) No. 220-2005-IVB.
The approval authorizes MMC and its operator, Calmia Nickel Inc., to proceed with the development and commercial operations of the project, subject to compliance with conditions set by the MGB under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Located in the municipality of Brooke’s Point in Palawan, the Infanta Nickel Project involves the extraction and sale of nickel and other associated mineral deposits within the MPSA area. The feasibility clearance marks a critical milestone, allowing the company to move beyond the planning stage and toward site development, mine construction, and eventual production.
For MacroAsia, the project provides a potential new growth driver as global demand for nickel continues to rise, fueled by stainless steel production and the accelerating shift toward electric vehicles and battery storage. The Philippines is among the world’s top nickel suppliers, and new projects with regulatory approval are closely watched by the market.
While the company did not disclose a production timetable or capital spending details, the approval significantly reduces permitting risk and signals government support for responsible mineral development, subject to environmental and regulatory safeguards.
MacroAsia said it will comply with all conditions of the MGB-DENR approval as it advances the Infanta Nickel Project, and will provide further disclosures as development milestones are achieved.
