A proposed P14.36-billion wind power project in Valencia, Bohol will undergo public scoping in February, according to the Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
Developer Stark Wind Energy Corp. will present details of the project and gather public feedback. The wind farm is planned to have a total capacity of up to 200 megawatts (MW), to be developed in two phases—50 MW in the first phase and 150 MW in the second. The project may include up to 33 wind turbines.
The project will cover about 2,916 hectares and is expected to employ around 600 workers during its 12- to 18-month construction period, with completion targeted by 2028.
The company said the project supports the government’s renewable energy goals and takes advantage of Bohol’s grid connectivity through the Cebu–Bohol interconnection. The government aims to raise renewable energy’s share in the power mix to 35 percent by 2030 and 50 percent by 2050. As of October 2025, the country’s installed wind capacity stands at 427 MW, all from onshore projects.
