Tanduay is doubling down on premium spirits while sharpening its global ambitions, as Spanish brandy house Torres officially enters the Philippine market through a new distribution partnership with the local liquor giant.
The collaboration was unveiled on January 27 with the launch of Torres 5 Light, marking the Spanish brand’s formal debut in the country. The rollout signals Tanduay’s intent to broaden its high-end portfolio while giving Filipino consumers access to internationally established spirits.
“The arrival of Torres in the Philippines marks the coming of two great houses united by a shared commitment to excellence and growth,” said Lucio Tan III, Tanduay president and chief executive officer. “This partnership reflects our vision to offer Filipino consumers world-class spirits.”
Christian Visalli, global managing director of Torres Spirits, said the partnership positions the brand for strong local traction. “With Tanduay as our distributor, we are confident Torres products will reach consumers who appreciate exceptional spirits rooted in authentic Spanish tradition,” he said.

Torres 5 Light will be distributed nationwide, alongside other premium expressions designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of drinkers — from younger, experimental consumers to more refined palates.
The brand will be available in leading supermarkets and grocery chains, with the wider Torres portfolio scheduled to roll out in the first quarter.
Beyond the local market, Tanduay is pressing ahead with international expansion.
International Business Development Manager Roy Kristoffer Sumang said the company plans to enter additional overseas markets this year, building on recent launches in Denmark, Japan and India.
While distribution challenges persist in Australia and New Zealand, Sumang noted that international sales still account for less than one percent of total revenue.
Tanduay is targeting 100,000 cases globally as it steadily works to strengthen its footprint beyond Philippine shores.
